The Time Has Come
Thank you for your interest in Soul Seeds – and thanks for hanging in there with us as we get things going. We’ll be sending out more regular communications and look forward to engaging with you to help Soul Seeds reach its fullest potential.
“Your Pain is Your Power”
I recently heard this statement on a television program produced several years ago and was struck by how fitting it is for this time. What is particularly compelling to me is that it flips around what we usually believe about pain. That it is debilitating. That we’re victims or that we’re weak. Rather, it suggests that because we go through difficulties — health challenges, betrayals, heartbreaks, loss, traumatic events and yes, even a pandemic — that we find our strength. We tap into our courage. We marshal our emotional reserves. We activate our networks. We find our voices. And therein lies our power.

To me, it is also the essence of the work of Soul Seeds, recognizing that people in pain need healing energy and unconditional support in order to find their center again, giving them the power of their voices and the strength to reclaim their lives.
We’re all assessing our “new normal” as we are coping with global, collective pain. For those who were already struggling with trauma, these profoundly challenging times have only amplified their distress. Mental health professionals observe that healing occurs in collaboration with others because it helps for people to know they are not alone. This is why we believe the time has come for Soul Seeds. And why moved from my position on the Board to take on the role of Executive Director. We believe that both traditional and nontraditional approaches are required in this unprecedented time for those who are facing mental health stressors and for the health providers and other caregivers.

We have seen the positive impact on our individual clients and earlier this year (seems like lifetimes ago), we had begun to do work with veterans with incredibly powerful results after just one session. I invite you to join us in being part of this transformative work. Donate if you can. Email me with ideas about what you’d like to see in our updates or if you have contacts that can help fund this work or get the word out. We always envisioned Soul Seeds as a collective force bringing unity to our communities. Now more than ever, we hear the call and are counting on you to hold a vision for this work. Join us in being part of Healing with Humanity.
We appreciate you. Our collective vision is also our power. Thank you for believing in us.
Melanie Davis-Jones
Executive Director

Dream Come True Moment

For over two decades, Nancy Rebecca and Yvonne Kilcup have built their educational programs, teaching individuals and communities about the importance of a healthy energy field. You see, both are registered nurses who had their own health issues that lead them to seek alternative ways to heal. Weaving energetic health with physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health led them to realize a perfect recipe for wellness.
For three years, they held a vision, to share these meditation and self healing tools to communities that seem to carry some of the heaviest burdens, yet hold their own visions of hope. This dream, led to the creation into reality of Soul Seeds non-profit. Last week, the dream began to unfold into reality.
Nancy Rebecca and Melanie Davis Jones were invited by the Veterans Center in Tacoma Washington to present at the Stress and Anger Management support group. In attendance were veterans who served our country in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. It was clear that they too were born with hearts to serve and here they were struggling with day to day triggers just to simply navigate daily life.
Nancy began by explaining the anatomy and physiology of the human energy field and chakras (energy centers). She went deeper to explain that the root chakra functions to help us to survive. That when in the middle of war, the root chakra is wide open, to help one draw upon all the information needed to survive danger. However, when home, with their families, watching a movie, the root chakra should be closed down and relaxed as well. When an individual has experienced past traumatic events, the root chakra can remain stuck wide open.
Then Nancy led the soldiers through a very gentle meditation process to calm the root chakra down. The physical relaxation was immediate and profound. It was a simple 20 minute meditation that produced tangible results. After the meditation, the heart to heart sharing was some of the deepest we have ever experienced in a group setting. These soldiers care deeply for their country and deserve to feel a part of it again.

A long held dream came true that day. Experiencing in its rawest form, just how valuable these meditation techniques are. We see a long relationship building with many more Veterans Centers in the future. Your ongoing soul support as well as financial support will assist Soul Seeds in realizing many more dreams to come.
